Berkat pengantin

Pening gak pikir ape nk bg tetamu as "berkat" pengantin. Mcm2 suggestions yg aku dapat. Drpd yg semahal2 nye....sampai la yg semurah2nye. I've went to a lot of places in search of a new idea. I wanted smthg yg org takkan buang and akan simpan as kenangan. 

Mula2 thought of giving out cupcakes. Found a few yg ade good rapport...bt thn aku pikir, tak sume org enjoy cupcakes, esp kalo org tua....coz its very sweet. Plus bila kira2 blk the cost....huhu...tak dapek den nk nolong! Mahal duh! Thn i had stumble upon this website anisbakery . Bila ternmpk muffins yg dh siap dgn packaging, siap dgn ribbons and tag nama....terus rs excited. And when i had enquired about the price....sgt menepati budgetku! Yg jd lg excited, bila tahu that place is so close to my place....kat Sg. Ramal je. Belakang area umah aku :)

So for 2 mths...that was about it in my mind. Tak nk tgk benda lain dh. But today...suddenly, i had a changed of heart...about the "berkat" la, and nothing else....hehe. Since ari nih cuti, aku ajak mama pi Pesta Kraftangan at Karyaneka dgn alasan "maner lah tau...if ade jumpe anything inetersting ke?". Actually, saje je la...lama tak bwk dia jln2. So off we went to KL 2 beranak.

Setelah tawaf jln conlay tuh 2 kali....we had managed to park kat dpn area Hotel Royale Chulan. It was RM6 per entry. Oklah...rather thn kitaorg kena menapak jejauh. Mcm2 stuff ade jual. From accessories diri smpi le accessories umah. Jln punye jln....kitaorg msk la khemah barangan seramik and accesories. And we had found the best and right gift as my "berkat". Its a clay handicraft and sgt comel. Benda nih konpem xde org buang, no expiry dates and it can be made into a good use :). If beli nih, and by ordering say 1200 pcs....aku blh save dlm RM600 from my original plan nk bg muffins td tuh. RM600! Mcm2 aku blh beli! hehe...

The "berkat" akan siap didatangi dgn gift box. Tak pyh nk wat apape lg pun. Although kilang diaorg kat Perak, but they are willing to come to KL to deliver the goods. Tuh yg best dgr tuh....xde la risau brg tuh pecah ke hape ke. Akak tuh ckp that they need at least sebulan to do that many (about 1200 pcs). Thn kitaorg nk la beli satu sample to show to Syed and the rest of the family....akak tuh bg free je kat kitaorg :)...hehe....rezeki pengantin. Showed it to Syed td, and dia pun suka. Monday nnt blh pegi blk and byr trs byr deposit. At least before puasa, dh blh dpt brg tuh. Takde la kelam kabut :)

Oh, besides that....we got away after me buying a pewter plated with white gold Kerongsang yg aku dh lama ngidam nk beli...but slalu jumpe, mahal giler.....and mama beli 2 periuk tanah liat. "Nk masak gulai asam pedas" kata dia....ikut la ma...asalkan happy sudah :)

Baju Pengantin....plus size??

7 months and 11 days to go before i will be officially Mrs. Syed :) hehe...org tua kata, lg dikira harinye, lg lama terasa.....bt nk wat camne? Need to look fwd for smthg kn ;)

So far i think ade lah dlm 50% have been done for the wedding. Let me see:

• Dates for nikah and sanding for both sides dh set 
• Caterers dh book (for both Nikah and Sanding) 
• Attended Kursus Pra-Perkahwinan 
• Pelamin nikah and bersanding (my side) dh book 
• Makeup artist - dh book for all 3 events 
• Baju nikah dh tempah 
• Baju bersanding (for my side) dh book

Speaking of baju...it was not an easy task to search for it. Lebih2 lg with my size kn? *sigh* Kesian org2 yg plus size mcm aku nih. Susah sgt nk cr bj for sanding. Nk cr ikut warna yg kita suka....xde saiz. Bila jumpe yg ade saiz, colour lak bukan ikut theme @ limited choices @ even worse.....terrible design + awful colour = horrible dress! Dun plus size ladies (such as myself) deserve to look beautiful as well?? We are soooo denied of our rights to be treated fairly by the world of fashion...esp. bridal fashion :(

Paling x blh blah is bila u enter a bridal boutique and tanye "U ade x bj pengantin saiz besar?".....and as usual, the girl will always give u this sympathetic smile...pandang kita atas bwh....and slowly reply "xde la".Perghh...skt tul ati time tuh! 

So, although i had always dreamed of a Lilac theme wedding....i had to settle for a colour yg senang utk dicari bj nye. Ramai yg advise utk tempah je, senang citer...but buat ape? A wedding dress would cost you anything from RM3K and above (tuh kalo yg nk vogue2 la kn...). Thn you would prbbly wear it only once in your entire life time....unless u've decided to practice Bigamy....lain lar citer kn?? huhu...So i had decided to just sewa je bj for sanding. But bj nikah mmg la tempah and the cost utk tempah, x la semahal bj bersanding....x sampai RM500 pun.

After spending hours online (googling for plus size bj sanding) and also going in and out of several bridal boutiques kat area Bandar Baru Bangi and Kajang....i finally found a few boutiques yg ade sediakan bj utk org plus sizes:

• Azue Bridal in BBB
• Zee Ika in Seksyen 8, BBB
• Pesona Asmara in Seksyen 9, BBB
• Kimie in Seksyen 9, BBB(also available in Kajang)

Warna yg available sumenye sama je....merah, silver, gold. Kimie in Kajang has more choices of colours but malas nk gi saner, ssh nk parking. Luckily lar masa bincang dgn mama, we've pre-decided on gold....and Pesona Asmara punye selection sgt cantik and price dia very resonable...so, gold it is! Bj sanding tuh is a 3 piece dress...ala2 long jubah. Love it so much :).

Next week cr bj sanding for Syed's side pulak. Theme colour belah lelaki is silver. Stay tuned....

Dh lama sbnrnye berhajat nk create blog nih but nvr really had the time to sit down and actually doing it. I'm creating this blog bukannye coz nk popular or apape....but would like to share my experience & journey in preparation of my wedding in September 2010 (insya-Allah)

You might be wondering what is so different about me compared to the other brides-to-be that had also created blogs to record their journey to a "Happy Ever After" life with their other half?? Well, for starter....i am what you might call a plus size bride. I stand tall at 5' 7", slightly (haha...yeah, right!) on the heavier side and oh...did i mentioned that i have big feet?? Oh yeah....we'll get to that part later...haha!

So i hope that if there is anyone....who shares the same physical similarity as me....would benefit from reading this blog. At least you know that you're not the only one facing that kind of situation before....(ssh nk cr bj, kasut, etc)
